Elite General Contractors is comprised of two principals, Mr. Daniel Borcean and Mr. Marcello Navarro. Since establishing Elite General in 2004, they have successfully completed 15 homes valued in excess of $20 million. Together they bring the essential experience, design and vision to work in general contracting.
Daniel Borcean, Director of Operations
An established builder with a career in construction and remodeling that spans more than 20 years. Daniel is an accomplished professional in areas of restoration, additions, home remodeling and new construction. His aspirations center on meeting and exceeding the client's expectations with unsurpassed workmanship and value on every project which has resulted in developing lasting relationships.
He oversees budgeting, estimating and project management of new construction, renovation and interior construction, construction management and design/build projects. His vast knowledge and proficiency of the construction process enables him to effectively communicate, coordinate and schedule multiple subcontractors and interact with project owners and engineers to facilitate proficient job progress. He has developed his extensive skills in plumbing, electric, HVAC systems, stone fabrication, framing, masonry, hardwood floors and carpentry. Daniel's experience of renovating homes has granted him the capacity and integrity to develop high quality construction with a meticulous attention to detail. He is a long time resident of Old Irving Park where he resides with his family.
Marcello Navarro, Director of Business Development
Marcello's roll is driven by his extensive experience in business development and client relations. He is responsible for all aspects of daily operations which include marketing, client development, design consultation, sourcing, and project estimating. Marcello works with each client to assess the feasibility of their building objectives ensuring that both form & function of every project is achieved within budget and delivered on schedule. This involves detailed research on building codes, zoning requirements, and material availability so that each goal can be attained within the market conditions and align with design characteristics of a given neighborhood.
Prior to joining Elite, Marcello spent 10 years in business development and client services at companies doing business domestically and internationally. Marcello has a solid track record in sales and secured over $50 million in new business for technology companies with clients across the globe.
His civic efforts led him to participate on boards and committies for some of Chicago's most well known cultural institutions, including the Goodman Theater, Steppenwolf and Lookinglass Theatres. He was a founding board member for M5 Artist Collective and has chaired the annual gala and fundraiser for Connections for Abused Women & their Children (CAWC).
Marcello is a graduate of the University of Illinois - Urbana where he holds degrees in International Economics & Spanish Literature. He is a registered and licensed real estate broker in Illinois.
